Momodou Sawaneh, a Gambian native living in the United States, has once again made headlines by clinching the prestigious “Top Agent” award from United Real Estate Hudson Valley Edge on January 15, 2025. This recognition marks the second consecutive year Sawaneh has been honored for his exceptional achievements in real estate, following his “Rising Star” award in 2024 at United Real Estate North Jersey.
Originally from Baddibu Suwareh Kunda, Sawaneh completed his high school education at Armitage High School in 1989 before moving to the United States in 1992. He earned a bachelor’s degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2000 and a master’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Pace University in 2003.
Sawaneh’s real estate journey began a few years ago, but his meteoric rise has been nothing short of inspirational. At the 2024 annual ceremony, he was one of the few Africans or African Americans among over 600 employees to win an award, a testament to his determination and skills.
Reflecting on his achievements, Sawaneh said, “I feel good about the recognition; this one was not expected and is very encouraging. To be recognized as a rising star last year and then as a top agent for two consecutive years is humbling. It reflects the trust my clients have placed in me and the support of my team.”
The “Top Agent” award recognizes outstanding performance, client satisfaction, and leadership in the real estate industry. Sawaneh attributed his success to hard work, resilience, and a commitment to excellence.
He encourages young people by stating, “Work hard toward your goals. Patience and consistency will yield results that are always memorable and appreciated.”
Sawaneh’s journey from Baddibu Suwareh Kunda, The Gambia, to the pinnacle of real estate success in the United States is a source of inspiration not only to Gambians, Africans, and others but also to aspiring professionals worldwide. His achievements underscore the potential of determination and vision to achieve greatness.
