As part of our 2025 Gambian Women Champions Initiative, we had the immense privilege of honoring Mrs. Hannah Forster, Executive Director of the African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS).

Mrs. Forster has dedicated her life to the promotion of gender equality, human rights, and the empowerment of women across The Gambia and the continent. Her unwavering leadership, resilience, and impact have paved the way for generations of change-makers.

Our Founder and CEO, Yankuba Keita himself a former intern & Staff at ACDHRS had the special honor of presenting this award. In his remarks, he reflected on Mrs. Forsterโ€™s powerful influence and the Centreโ€™s continued role in advancing democratic values and inclusive development.

In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Forster graciously dedicated the award to all women: those on the farms, in the gardens, in offices, and beyond acknowledging their indispensable role in shaping our society.
