The National Early Warning and Response Mechanism Coordinating Centre (NCCRM), a satellite agency under the Office of the Vice President (OVP), received donation of smart gadgets from the ECOWAS Protection and Human Security Integrated Coordinated Mechanism (ECO-PHSICM) at their office complex in Kololi.
The donated items are designed to improve the collection and analysis of data on human security threats by systematically monitoring and reporting conflict indicators. This is a significant step towards enhancing national security and promoting informed decision-making processes.
At the event, Miatta Lily French, ECOWAS Resident Representative in The Gambia, emphasized that the gadgets will strengthen the country’s national delivery in areas of protection and security.
Saikou Trawalleh, Deputy Permanent Secretary (DPD) Technical, highlighted the crucial role the gadgets will play in enhancing the national capacity to prevent, respond to, and mitigate threats to national security.
In her remarks, Binta Singhateh, Director of NCCRM, expressed her gratitude to ECOWAS, noting that the donation will greatly improve efficiency in data collection, analysis, and dissemination of information, directly impacting the quality and timeliness of national security reports.
