Supreme Court upholds Arizona law requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration in statewide elections

As of July 1, 42,301 Arizonans were registered to vote in “federal-only elections,” which the state offered to voters who do not provide documentary proof of citizenship or proof of residency, according to the secretary of state’s office.
