Talented Nigerian rapper and singer Raoul John Njeng Njeng, popularly known in music circles as Skales, has taken to social media to preach perseverance.
The ‘Shake Body’ crooner, in a post shared on his X page (formerly Twitter), stated that most artistes give up on their craft just before they break through because they lose hope, burn out, or become discouraged by a lack of recognition.
Skales claims that a lot of gifted people give up when they are rejected, have financial difficulties, or are not recognized, frequently right before their big break.

He made the remarks on his social media page while reflecting on the common truth in creative careers that success often comes after long periods of struggle, uncertainty, and rejection.
“Your music will take you places all over the globe. You just need to be consistent enough to see it happen. Most artists quit before the blessings show up. Keep going,” Skales’ post reads.
