NYC schools chancellor wants more money to enforce state cell phone ban — but about half of schools already have them

Testifying before state lawmakers Wednesday, New York City Schools Chancellor Melissa Aviles-Ramos is complaining that the $13.5 million in the Governor’s proposed budget to help schools implement cell phone bans is “inadequate” even though roughly half of Big Apple schools already have bans in place.
