The match was a challenging game for both teams after playing for 90 minutes, and both teams had a penalty spot to secure 1:1 in the match; extra minutes were added. However, both teams could not score to secure a win against each other.
Unfortunately for South Africa, Nigeria had more scores during the penalty shootouts, which gave them victory.
