NGX: Tantalizer, Conoil lead gainers as investors make N152bn

The Nigerian equities market maintained its profit-making streak with another N152bn profit for investors on the trading floor of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) on Thursday, December 12, 2024.

This follows a surge in the share prices of stocks like TANTALIZERS, CONOIL, and CUSTODIAN amongst others on the trading floor.

After five hours of trading at the capital market, the equity capitalization surged to N59.867 trillion from N59.715 trillion that was recorded by the bourse on Wednesday.

The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) increased to 98,760.59 from 98,509.68 recorded the previous trading day.

The market breadth was positive as 27 stocks advanced and 23 stocks declined, while 68 stocks remained unchanged in 8,9109 deals.

TANTALIZERS, CONOIL, and CUSTODIAN led other gainers with 10%, 10% and 9.92 growth each in share prices to close at N1.76, N387.20, and N13.85 from the previous N1.60, N352.00 and N12.60 per share.

DAARCOMM, CAVERTON, and OMATEK led other price decliners with 8.47%, 8.16%, and 7.46% decline each in share prices to close at N0.54, N1.80, and N0.62 from the previous N0.59, N1.96 and N0.67 per share.

On the volume index, FCMB led trading with 698 million shares in 148 deals followed by ETRANZACT which traded 473 million shares in 27 deals.

HMCALL traded 234 million shares in 47 deals.
 

On the value index, ARADEL topped as the securities traded stock worth N752 million in 341 deals followed by FCMB which traded equities worth N698 million in 148 deals.

WAPCO traded shares valued at N558 million in 216 deals.
