Minteh Urges Brighton to Improve Home Form After Spurs Draw

By: Kemo Kanyi

Gambia international Yankuba Minteh has called on Brighton & Hove Albion to improve their home performances after a 2-2 stalemate with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, the 19-year-old attacker admitted he was left slightly disappointed by the result despite opening the scoring for the Seagulls.

“We came into the game with the mentality to win, but in the end we had to share the points. It’s not a bad thing—we got one point—but we need to adjust and try to win games at home,” Minteh said.

Reflecting on the first half, he noted that Brighton’s midfield dominance created opportunities for the forwards. “If you’re in the middle, you’ll get balls behind. I just tried to run into those spaces, even though they weren’t too big.”

Minteh rounded the goalkeeper to score Brighton’s opener and explained his confidence in one-on-one situations: “I always feel confident when I’m facing goalkeepers. Most of the time they expect a shot, but if you cut it short, they can’t stop you.”

The Gambian winger also revealed he played through slight rib pain but was determined to give his all for the team.
