Abdoulie Fatty from Omorto Village, Friday, appeared before Brikama Magistrates’ Court on a single count of assault causing grievous harm, contrary to Section 181 of the Criminal Offences Act, 2025.
Appearing before Magistrate I.O. Njie, Fatty was accused of hitting his wife with wood.
Inspector Colley appeared for the Inspector General of Police, while the accused was unrepresented.
According to the charge sheet, the accused, on or about October 23, 2025, at Omorto Village in the West Coast Region, assaulted Mama Sama by striking her on the head with a piece of wood, causing her grievous harm.
When the charge was read and explained to him, Fatty replied, “I hit her, but I don’t know if she got injured.” The court recorded a plea of guilty.
The matter was adjourned to Tuesday, November 11, 2025, for presentation of facts and sentencing.
