CPL 7232 E. Fofana, representing the Inspector General of Police, prosecuted the case, while the accused was unrepresented.

On the first count, Jallow was charged with “breaking into a building and committing a felony”, contrary to the Criminal Offences Act 2025. According to the particulars of the offence, on or about 25th August 2025, at Gunjur, Kombo South, West Coast Region, he unlawfully broke into the building of Buba Darboe and committed a felony.

For the second count, he was charged with “stealing”, contrary to Section 226 of the Criminal Offences Act 2025. The prosecution alleged that on the same date and location, Jallow stole electrical wires from Darboe’s house valued at D80,750.

For the third count, he was charged with “malicious damage to property”, contrary to Section 290(1) of the Criminal Offences Act 2025. It was alleged that Jallow willfully and unlawfully damaged electrical wires and a house door, resulting in a total loss of D80,750 belonging to Buba Darboe.

After the charges were read and explained to Jallow, he pleaded not guilty to all counts.

When the issue of bail was raised, the prosecuting officer did not object to the accused being granted bail and he applied for an adjournment to secure witnesses. The court then granted bail in the sum of D100,000 with two Gambian sureties and the matter was adjourned to 20th October 2025 for the testimony of the first prosecution witness.
