The Gambia Police Force (GPF) on Monday welcomed a delegation from the Accountant General’s Office for a familiarization visit on the newly introduced digital-led payment system for all non-taxable revenues.

Speaking on behalf of the Police Command, Commissioner of Licensing, Kalilu Njie, expressed appreciation for the Accountant General’s Office’s efforts to modernize state revenue collection. He emphasized that the transition to digital platforms would improve efficiency and transparency in the processing and issuance of essential documents, including driving licenses, certificates of character, and vehicle number plates. Commissioner Njie also urged officers to provide maximum support to members of the public during the adoption of the new system.

Leading the visiting team, Alhagie Babou Joof, Head of Non-Tax Revenue at the Accountant General’s Office, explained that the initiative represents a major shift from manual to digital payment methods. He stressed that the reform would simplify procedures for both citizens and government institutions. Highlighting the Police as one of the country’s leading revenue-generating agencies, Mr. Joof noted their key role as stakeholders in the initiative.

During the engagement, the delegation received live demonstrations on how to access and use the digital payment platform effectively, ensuring smooth integration into daily operations.

The Gambia Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to supporting digital reforms and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure efficient, secure, and transparent public service delivery.
