GNOC Inaugurates Eight Commissions and Committees

The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) on Wednesday inaugurated eight commissions and committees to spearhead key thematic areas under the National Olympic Committee’s mandate.

The newly established bodies include the Athletes Commission, chaired by Gina Bass; the Constitutional Review Committee, led by Mben Faal Esq.; and the Sustainability Commission under the chairmanship of Yorro Njie.

Also inaugurated were the Gender Equality Commission, also chaired by Mben Faal Esq.; the Medical and Anti-Doping Committee, headed by Dr. Omar Jagne; the OlympAfrica Centre Management Committee, chaired by Bakary K. Jammeh; the Mass Participation Commission, led by Lamin King Colley; and the Marketing and Fundraising Committee, also under Bakary K. Jammeh’s leadership.

Speaking at the ceremony, GNOC President Bai Dodou Jallow expressed gratitude to all members for accepting their nominations to serve the nation.

“We are aware of the task ahead of us. These commissions and committees are integral to our work as an NOC, and we will provide full support in your roles and responsibilities,” he assured the appointees.

Jallow emphasized that commitment and hard work from these bodies would significantly enhance the Olympic movement in The Gambia.
