GFF Launches Committee to Elevate Annual Football Awards

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has officially inaugurated its Awards Night Committee, a key initiative aimed at institutionalizing and enhancing recognition of excellence in Gambian football. The ceremony, held at Football House in Kanifing on [insert date], was presided over by GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo, who charged the committee with organizing a prestigious and enduring end-of-season awards event.

The newly formed committee is tasked with meticulously planning and executing an annual gala that will celebrate outstanding achievements across all facets of Gambian football. Speaking at the event, President Bajo expressed confidence in the committee’s diverse composition and the unique expertise each member brings.

“I extend my sincere congratulations and profound gratitude to each member for accepting this crucial national assignment,” said President Bajo. “This committee embodies a remarkable diversity of talent and expertise. Our mandate is clear: to ensure these awards not only become an annual tradition but also set a new benchmark for recognizing excellence in Gambian football.”

Mr. Bakary K. Jammeh, appointed as Chairman of the committee, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and his team. “I am deeply honored by the President’s trust in appointing me to lead this noble initiative,” said Jammeh. “My team and I are committed to working assiduously and expeditiously to ensure the resounding success of this event. We are excited to celebrate achievements within our football community and will commence our work immediately.”

Vice Chairperson Musa Sise also assured the GFF and football fraternity of the committee’s dedication. “On behalf of the committee, I assure the GFF leadership and the football community that we will execute our duties with the utmost sincerity and professionalism,” he said.

Other committee members, including Sulayman Sowe, Arret Njie Jah, Ebrima Darboe, and Bakary Bojang, individually thanked President Bajo for their appointments and pledged their full commitment to the success of the inaugural and subsequent awards nights.

The GFF Awards Night Committee is mandated to propose the schedule, design, and concept of each edition, establish a budget, and secure sponsorships, partnerships, and donors to ensure a self-financed and sustainable annual awards event. The initiative underscores the GFF’s commitment to fostering a culture of recognition, motivation, and excellence within Gambian football.
