Gambia U-17 Coach Presents CAF A License to GFF

By: Kemo Kanyi

The head coach of The Gambia U-17 national team, Yahya Manneh, has officially presented his CAF A License coaching certificate to the leadership of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) in a brief ceremony held at Football House.

The event was attended by GFF President Lamin Kabba Bajo, First Vice President Bakary K. Jammeh, General Secretary Lamin M. Jassey, and Ousman Drammeh, General Manager of the National Teams Department, who all received Coach Manneh and congratulated him on his achievement.

Coach Manneh is one of three Gambians who recently completed the prestigious CAF A License course, which was organized by the Liberian Football Association. He expressed gratitude to the GFF for the support provided throughout his journey, emphasizing that the accomplishment would not have been possible without the full backing of the Federation’s leadership.

Speaking at the event, First Vice President Jammeh described Manneh as the first GFF-trained coach to earn a CAF A License since the introduction of structured football development in the country. He commended the coach’s dedication and assured him of the Federation’s continued support.

GFF President Lamin Kabba Bajo also congratulated Manneh, highlighting that he is among a select group of Gambians to obtain the CAF A License—Africa’s highest coaching certification. Bajo reaffirmed the GFF’s commitment to developing its human resources and described Manneh as a hardworking and committed professional.

General Secretary Lamin M. Jassey echoed similar sentiments, praising Coach Manneh for his perseverance and professionalism.
