By: Isatou Sarr

The Gambia Police Force has launched an investigation into two suspected murder cases involving two young men at Dalaba Estate and Paradise View in Bijilo.

In a statement issued on 24 September 2025, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Brusubi confirmed that the victims, identified as Essa Anderson, 24, of Paradise Estate, and Alhagie Gaye, 24, of Bijilo, were discovered following a report lodged by relatives of the deceased persons.

According to the GPF statement, a Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) team was dispatched to the locations where preliminary findings indicated that both men had sustained severe physical assaults.

Police said the bodies were transferred to the mortuary in Banjul for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement.

The statement concluded by reaffirming the Police Force’s commitment to protecting lives and ensuring justice, while cautioning citizens against taking the law into their own hands.
