Ex-Soldier Sanyang’s Case Resumes With Presentation Of Radio Footage.

The lead state prosecutor, Saikou Lamin Jobarteh Wednesday presented to Banjul High Court, West Coast Radio’s footages of the interview by ex-military officer, Abdoulie Sanyang.

Testifying before Justice Ebrima Jaiteh, the fourth defense witness (pw4), Paul A.F. Sambou , attached to the Information Technology Unit of the police, revealed how he obtained the footage of the accused, Sanyang.

Sambou explained that Officer Jawara, the Director of the Special Investigation Unit, instructed him to download Sanyang’s footage from the online official website of West Coast Radio.

Mr. Sambou then said that after receiving his boss’ instruction, he searched for the footage of the accused on the official page of West Coast Radio.

Consequently, pw4, Sambou then downloaded three footages of Sanyang’s interview with Peter Gomez.

At that point the prosecuting lawyer Jobarteh applied to the court to play the said footages to enable the witness identify.

However after listening to the first footage of the accused’s interview with Peter Gomez, the matter was adjourned for continuation.

Meanwhile, it could be recalled that the accused Sanyang on

14 August 2025, during a live broadcast of Coffee Time with Peter Gomez on West Coast Radio made statements regarding the burning of APRC bureau.

The particulars of offense in count two further showed that Sanyang made utterances concerning an ongoing court case of Ousainou Bojang, the man accused of shooting to dead two police officers and injuring the third.
