Controversial On Air Personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has revealed how he lost 100 percent of his business ventures when he started attacking and criticizing Nigerian pastors.
Daddy Freeze who made the claims in an interview on the Leadership podcast with Dr. Stephen Akintayo, recounted how his lucrative career as a master of ceremonies (MC) dried up due to his harsh criticism of men of God in the country.
He explained that he once earned N1.5 million per event when the dollar was valued at N150, an equivalent of $10,000 every two months, or $60,000 annually from MC work alone but after his controversial stance of calling out pastors, the bookings vanished, and he has not been engaged since 2019 while the occasional jobs he gets are usually cancelled by the organizers at the last minute upon seeing his name on promotional materials.
“When I came after Nigerian pastors, I lost 100% of my business at the initial stage,” the broadcaster said.
‘It got so bad that after like two years, I used to MC because my rate were high, I used to charge N1.5m when dollar was N150. I used to get one or two in a month.
“A revenue of $10,000 every two months which is like $60,000 a year from just one aspect, it went away. Till now I have not done MC since 2019. I had one or two gigs here and there but the one they agreed to pay, they paid me upfront then the flier came out and everybody said they were not going to attend.
”Because I hadn’t made money in a long time as they paid the money and I spent it all. The guy called and I told him we have agreed, he said if it’s about the upfront, I can keep it,” he stated
