Bakoteh Layout Secure Semi-Final Spot in MSA Nawettan

Bakoteh Layout FC have advanced to the semifinals of the ongoing Manjai Sports Association summer Nawettan after defeating Brusubi United in a dramatic encounter.

The match concluded with BK Layout prevailing 5-3 on penalties following a thrilling 1-1 draw that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.

Alagie Mustapha Sugu opened the scoring for Brusubi United in the first half, giving his side a 1-0 advantage going into the break.

The second half witnessed heated exchanges that boiled over into disciplinary action. Brusubi United’s frustrations with the officiating resulted in red cards for both Lamin Jobarteh and Alagie Kujabi, who were dismissed for their protests against refereeing decisions.

With five minutes of added time signaled by the fourth official, Brusubi United appeared to have secured their semifinal berth after defending resolutely for 80 minutes.

However, defensive miscommunication proved costly, as Adama Jawo equalized in the 82nd minute, sending the match to a nail-biting penalty shootout.

In what marks their debut Nawettan campaign, BK Layout showed remarkable composure to win the penalty lottery and book their place in the semifinals, establishing themselves as a team to watch in the competition.

The result sees the newcomers continue their impressive maiden voyage in the tournament as they prepare for the next stage of their semifinal challenge.
