The American National Football League (NFL) has stated that the r@pe accusation against popular rapper Sean Carter, also known as Jay-Z, will not affect the league’s connection with the musician’s entertainment firm, Roc Nation.
In a recent court case, Houston-based attorney Tony Buzbee (who is recognised as a Texas ‘Super Lawyer’) accused Jay-Z of r@ping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 with his coworker Sean “Diddy” Combs.
In a move to dismiss the case, Jay Z’s legal team has asked Jane Doe, the purported victim of the initial lawsuit, to provide her identity so that he can “properly defend himself against this false claim through the legal process in a transparent manner.” Jay Z has already rejected Tony Buzbee’s allegations.

At a news conference on Wednesday, December 11 in Irving, Texas, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell stated that the league’s relationship with Jay Z and Roc Nation “is not changing… including our preparations for the next Super Bowl.”
“We are aware of the civil allegations and Jay Z’s really strong response to that,” Goodell said. “We know obviously that litigation is happening. But from our standpoint, our relationship is not changing with them, including our preparations for the next Super Bowl.”
He continued, “I think they’re getting incredibly comfortable with not just the Super Bowl but other events that they have advised us on and helped us with. They’ve been helpful in the social justice area to us on many occasions. They’ve been great partners that have provided a lot of value to us.”
