Falz breaks silence regarding defamatory case against Very Dark Man

Nigerian actor cum musician Folarin Falana popularly known in entertainment circles as Falz has broken his silence regarding the defamation case against Very Dark Man.

The ‘Bop Daddy’ crooner weighed in on the matter on the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast. He recounted the back-and-forth he had with VDM when he shared the audio clip, which contained defamatory claims against him (Falz) and his father, Femi Falana.

According to Falz, the social media critic responded defensively when he confronted VDM about the controversial audio clip he shared online.

Falz disclosed that VDM told him to go to court to table his matter but he did warn him to take down the audio clip and offer an apology within a certain period.

The musician said; “This guy was instantly defensive from the beginning; I’m like bro, try and listen. What are you instantly fighting about? And he said to me, without minding words, ‘shebi you’re a lawyer; go to court.’”

“I’ll have you know that there’s a criminal angle to defamation, and I chose not to go that way. He could have very well been arrested. What you’ve posted is a load of bollocks, absolutely false and I need you to take it down and offer an apology within a certain amount of time. What did he do? Nothing,” he added.

Falz further noted that he did not have any issues with VDM until he dragged his father’s name into the mud and he could not take that disrespect from the social media critic.

“I no dey find trouble Baba, I dey my dey. You set your ring light and begin dey talk all this nonsense about me, and you expect me to sit down? He trampled on every single thing my father stood for, sticking out his neck for the oppressed. So this level of disrespect ? See our people say that any child who says his mother would not sleep, he himself would not sleep,” he said.
