Prominent Gambian hip hop and Afro dancehall artist Abdoulie Gaye, known by his stage name Attack, has released a new album titled “Borom Dekabi,” featuring 14 songs.
Speaking to The Fatu Network via WhatsApp, Attack said the album reflects his current realities in the country’s music scene. “My latest album is titled BOROM DEKABI, which means ‘the owner of the country’ a title given to someone with authority, leadership, and presence, like a president. This album represents where I am in my journey right now: confident, focused, and fully in control of my craft,” he disclosed.
He noted that the album follows a long period in which he stepped back from releasing music. “During that time, I was growing, finding myself again, and perfecting my sound. When I returned with ‘GIDDEM’, the energy and support from the fans reminded me that my place in the game is still here and stronger than ever,” he explained.
The album contains 14 tracks, and the singer said each one was created from a real and honest place. “It’s a mixture of storytelling, culture, elevation, and the signature Attack energy people love.”
Attack revealed that his favourite song among the 14 is “SATEH TIYO,” a Mandinka word meaning “the owner of the country,” adding that the track captures the soul of the entire project. “It’s bold, powerful, and speaks about stepping into your purpose and taking ownership of your journey. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of my growth and how far I’ve come.”
The artist, who has previously released several hit songs, said the new album offers energy for the streets, emotion for the heart, culture for the people, and motivation for anyone pushing through life. “This project is for everyone who has grown with me and for those discovering me for the first time. It’s real, it’s powerful, and I know the fans will connect with every track,” he assured.
