Man Charged with Possessing 2.3g of Suspected Cannabis

One Lamin Jadama Thursday appeared before Brikama Magistrates’ Court charged with possessing 2.3g of suspected cannabis.

Appearing before Magistrate I.O. Njie on a single count of possession of prohibited drugs, contrary to Section 35(a)(1) of the Drug Control Act, 2003, Laws of The Gambia.

Prosecutor Sanna Camara represented the Drug Law Enforcement Agency–The Gambia (DLEAG), while the accused was unrepresented.

According to the particulars of offence, Jadama was found in possession of 2 grams, 300 milligrams of suspected cannabis on or about May 5, 2025, at Lamin, West Coast Region.

When the charge was read and explained to him in court, Jadama pleaded guilty.

The case has been adjourned to Monday, October 6, 2025, for the prosecution to present the facts of the case before sentencing
