Momodou Jallow, a Farato resident on Monday September 29th,  appeared before Brikama Magistrates’ Court charged with breaking into a building.

Appearing before Magistrate M. Dem, the accused was indicted on a single count of breaking into a building with intent to commit a felony, contrary to Section 259 of the Criminal Offences Act 2025.

According to the particulars of the offence, Jallow allegedly entered a mosque at Brikama Nyambai, Kombo Central, West Coast Region, on September 12, 2025, with intent to commit a felony.

The charge was read and explained to the accused in court, and he pleaded not guilty.

Representing the Inspector General of Police, Corporal 7232 E. Fofana did not object to the accused being granted bail, noting that the charge is bailable. He requested an adjournment to allow the prosecution to secure its witnesses.

The court granted Jallow bail in the sum of D5,000 with one Gambian surety, who is required to deposit either a national ID card or passport. The matter was adjourned to October 9, 2025, for the hearing of the first prosecution witness (PW1).
