The Gambia Police Force has arrested four Nigerian Nationals in connection with alleged online scamming activities, the force confirmed in a report released on Wednesday, 24th September 2025.
According to the report, the arrests were made following a coordinated operation by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and the Anti-Crime Unit (ACU) on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025, in Sinchu Sori. The operation came after credible intelligence pointed to suspicious activities suspected to be linked to online scams.
“The operation led to the arrest of four Nigerian nationals,” the report stated. Items recovered during the raid included ten laptops, several smartphones, multiple SIM cards, internet routers, and various computer accessories such as mice and chargers.
The suspects are currently in custody at the Police Headquarters, where investigations are ongoing.
The Police Force urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious online activities promptly. Compound owners are also advised to carry out thorough background checks before renting out their premises to tenants.
