Pirang Talibeh Kunda (P.T.K) were crowned champions of the Pirang Super Cup after a hard-fought victory over Fulham FC in a thrilling final played on Saturday at the Pirang football field.
The much-anticipated clash brought together the two standout teams from last season’s Nawettan. The tournament was jointly sponsored by the Inspector General of Police, Seedy Muktarr Touray, and Abdou Sowe, National Assembly Member for Kombo East—both of whom attended the colorful final.
Zakaria Njie broke the deadlock for P.T.K in the 18th minute with a composed finish following a brilliant team move. Fulham FC pushed hard for an equalizer but failed to convert their chances before halftime.
In the second half, Fulham continued to press, with Captain Sambou Kanyi missing several opportunities to level the score. P.T.K United, however, held their defensive shape and composure, frustrating their opponents until the final whistle.
As champions, P.T.K United received a trophy and a cash prize of D35,000, while runners-up Fulham FC were awarded a consolation prize of D25,000.
