Amaju Pinnick, former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has been named Special Adviser to Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Patrice Motsepe.
The appointment was ratified by CAF’s Executive Committee on Saturday, with Motsepe confirming that Pinnick will now attend executive meetings in his new advisory capacity.
Although Pinnick recently lost his position on the FIFA Council, his influence within African football remains significant.
He was instrumental in Motsepe’s successful bid to become CAF president in March 2021.
