Wike, Dele Momodu in bitter war of words

Former Rivers State Governor and
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, and veteran journalist, Dele Momodu, have set the social media space on fire with their exchange of verbal fireworks as a result of Wike’s vituperations during a chat with some selected media houses on Thursday.

During the chat, Wike had fired the first salvo by describing the Ovation International Magazine publisher as a ‘fat boy’, saying he does not even know his name.

When one of the journalists asked him to respond to Momodu’s recent criticism of his political antics and “loose tongue”, Wike had said:

“There is this boy, they say he is a journalist. What’s his name? He is big.”

When a journalist said “Dele Momodu”.

Wike responded:

“Okay, I don’t remember all these names. He was never my friend. He ran for president, but he didn’t get one vote.”
The comment by Wike had irked a lot of people who went into the archives to dig up old pictures when they were on the same page.

And just as the verbal attack was raging, Momodu who was a presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023, took to his Facebook page to blast Wike, calling him a drunk who has lost his memory due to excessive intake of alcohol.

“I can confirm that too much alcohol can do two things, dull the memory and get people emaciated,” he wrote.

“On elections, there’s no difference between the man who wasted billions on seeking power and still lost and the one who spent nothing and got nothing.

“They are both losers… The difference here is one is an uncouth and uncultured local champion called ‘money miss road’ while the other is a decorous and refined global citizen surviving on contentment…

“We thought we could be of help but we failed because some souls are Irredeemable…

“Lesson: NO ONE HAS A MONOPOLY OF MADNESS…”, he wrote.
