ALLEGED DEFAMATION: Prime Boy drags Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, to court, seeks N50m in damages

Owodunni Ibrahim, aka Primeboy, one of the closest friends of Mohbad, has dragged the late singer’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba, to court over alleged defamatory comments.

This was made known in a post shared on the Instagram page of Primeboy, who shared a copy of the legal document he filed in the High Court of Lagos, Ikeja Judicial Division.

In his post shared on Wednesday, February 19, Primeboy disclosed that he is suing Abosede for making an alleged libelous and malicious statement in a video interview made on the 28th of March, 2024.

According to Primeboy, the comments made by her, which were published in several news media and online news outlets, were designed to defame him in the eyes of members of society.

In the document, Prime Boy claims that Mohbad’s mother is liable for 50 million Naira in damages for “libelous, injurious, falsehood, and malicious statement made of and concering the claimant by the defendant in a video interview made on the 28th of March, 2024, and published in several news media and online news outlets, designed to defame the claimant in the eyes of right-thinking members of society.”

This comes weeks after Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of Mohbad, called on the Nigeria Police Force to summon his second son, Adura, and Omawunmi (Mohbad’s baby mama), to provide insights into the death of the late singer.

Mr Aloba disclosed in a statement that he is demanding the summons due to the recent world press conference organised by Yoruba actor Mr. Yomi Fabiyi regarding the alleged video which Adura reportedly sent to him—suspected to be linked to Mohbad’s tragic demise in his home years ago.

According to him, Adura and Omawunmi were in the house when Mohbad passed away, yet they have both refused to speak, likely due to the influence of people whose motives, in this case, remain unclear to him and the whole world.

Mr. Aloba expressed concerns about Adura’s silence, stating that he had refused to speak about the events leading to Mohbad’s de@th despite efforts made to reach out to him.
