Farafenni SSS recently hosted an insightful and impactful event that brought together students, teachers, and esteemed guest speakers, leaving everyone with a greater sense of awareness and responsibility. The school had the honour of welcoming representatives from both the Farafenni Police Station and the Farafenni General Hospital, who, in collaboration with the Regional Health Director and the Public Health Unit, provided invaluable knowledge on important topics related to public safety and health.
The Farafenni Police Station delegation delivered a compelling talk focused on violence, drug abuse, and various forms of abuse. They emphasized the crucial roles that both teachers and students play in promoting peace and driving positive societal change. Their session was interactive, with an engaging question-and-answer segment that allowed attendees to ask questions and clarify doubts, further deepening their understanding of these important issues.
On the other hand, the Farafenni General Hospital delegation, in partnership with health officials, shared critical insights into a wide range of health topics. These included the effects of drugs, menstrual health, cervical cancer, nutrition, personal hygiene, and environmental sanitation. The session proved to be highly informative, offering practical advice on how students can better take care of themselves and their communities.
Both students and teachers walked away with a wealth of knowledge, eager to share the information learned with their families and communities. The awareness gained from this event is expected to inspire greater responsibility and informed decision-making both within the school and in the broader society.
This enriching and eye-opening experience was a testament to the school’s commitment to providing meaningful educational opportunities for its students. Farafenni SSS looks forward to hosting more such events in the future to continue promoting learning, awareness, and positive change within the community.
